Hello! I’m not sure this is the best place to ask this, but I wasn’t able to find anyone specific to contact with my request. I’m applying to Columbia this fall, and am planning to visit the morning of November 7th. As there are no tours offered on weekends, I was hoping to meet with a student to get the unofficial view of the school. I’m very interested in the theatre program at Columbia, so I figured asking the arts students wouldn’t be a bad idea. If there is anyone willing to get up around nine or ten AM (Sorry for so early!) to meet with me, that would be fantastic. If not, I understand; my request is both somewhat strange and on short notice. Thank you for your time!

Hey Sara,
I’d suggest contacting the Barnard Theatre Department directly. You may also want to reach out to one of the student theatre groups on campus; most groups are more than willing to welcome a prospective student and answer questions. A full list with contact information is available on our website. Good luck with your application!

It would be wonderfully useful to parents and friends of University performers to have access to a comprehensive calendar of performances. TIC has been useless to me whenever I want to confirm a performance date. Just try to fond Orchesis dates. Today I am looking for the 117th Varsity Show dates/times.
Hello Beth,
Thanks for your post!
We certainly understand you wanting to find out about performances. We do as well, as we love the arts on campus! As soon as students give us information about their events, we add it directly to the calendar. The reason that the Varsity Show dates are not on the calendar is that they have not been confirmed. We communicate with students that it is in their best interest to plan long-term so that their audience can plan in advance as well. Many times, however, students have to wait on spaces or funding to be secured before they can confirm all details.
Hope this addresses your concerns. Please let me know if you have other questions.
Best,
Chad Miller
