The CU Arts Initiative is joining the applause! The Diana Center, Barnard College’s long awaited student center, is now open to the public. Designed around Barnard’s goal to “create common spaces that foster spontaneous interaction” the center, with its emphasis on “sight lines” and “terraced green spaces” is going to revolutionize student life on campus and bring Barnard’s vibrant arts scene to light!
Home to a black box theater, the Architecture, Art History and Visual Arts departments, a new dining hall, cafe, college store, and various administrative and student offices including College Activities, Diversity Initiatives, McAc, Student Computing, and SGA, The Diana Center will be a hub of artistic and social activity. After two and a half years of construction, the Diana Center is welcomed by all.
There is still some minor construction going on. The dining hall will be opening in a few weeks and the black box theater will be opening later this spring. But we’re glad to have Barnard’s campus back!
The CU Arts Initiative supports The Diana Center’s mission to create new places and spaces for the arts!
