If you still haven’t had your fill of how our fantasy lives inside of our computers are becoming real, or how life is actually like a video game, you have a chance this week to check out a new comedy at this year’s Dream Up Festival. It’s called The Dudleys! and the show cleverly combines a normal family drama with 8-bit madness, including a band only using chiptune noises.
More reason to get you there would be the slew of Columbia alumni and students who helped craft the piece. Alumni include playwright Steven Gridley (SoA ’09) and actors Meg McLynn (SoA ’08) and Casey Robinson (SoA ’08), while current SoA students include director Matt Torney, producer Danielle Karliner, and press manager Jeffery James Keyes.
So what will happen when our real life anxieties collide with our virtual fantasies? Check it out all next week with The Dudleys!
